Time running out to contribute to transport review for Hereford

Published March 17th, 2020

Herefordshire Council is reviewing its transport strategy and residents, commuters and local businesses have a few weeks left to contribute their ideas.

Ben Corbett, a chartered surveyor with Berrys in Hereford, says it’s important that local people give their experiences of transport and travel in Hereford and about the improvements they would like to see. The deadline is March 31.

The review will include work to better understand existing and future road conditions, alternative transport options and changing national policy particularly regarding the climate emergency, alongside an independent peer assessment of the proposed major road schemes.

It will also consider options that could deliver improvements more quickly, including the possibility of an eastern link road and river crossing, removal of traffic lights on key routes, emergency response arrangements to remove breakdowns on A49, an electric bus fleet for the urban bus network and improvements that provide safer routes to school.

To share your views please go to and complete the online questionnaire by March 31, 2020. The review is expected to be completed by the end of July.
