A Shropshire planning consultant has been invited to speak at a national trade show and conference on anaerobic digestion.
Stephen Locke, partner and planning consultant at Berrys’ Shrewsbury office, will be a key speaker at the Anaerobic Digestion and Biogas Association’s (ADBA) fifth annual trade show and conference which takes place on July 2 and 3, 2014 at the NEC, Birmingham.
Mr Locke has been invited to present on “Overcoming the planning hurdles to anaerobic digestion” in the Planning and Public Engagement Seminar, running from 16.00 – 16.55 on Wednesday, July 2 in the Purple Seminar Theatre.
“Berrys has been involved in a number of successful anaerobic digestion projects across the UK and this seminar will enable me to pass on our knowledge to a wide audience,” he said.
“The session will look at what businesses can do to speed up the planning process, consult with the local authorities and deal with objections.
“Planning is always a major issue for farmers and landowners looking to install a renewable energy facility but the key is to communicate with the authorities and other stakeholders from the outset,” he said.
Berrys has a proven record of helping farmers choose the most appropriate site and providing authorities with the correct information to allow the planning application to proceed to a successful outcome. The firm has built up an excellent working knowledge and understanding of the AD industry and offer sound, practical advice on all aspects of the planning process.
