British Paralympic Gold medallist Richard Whitehead and double leg amputee is running a marathon a day this summer from John O’Groats to Land’s End in order to raise money for Sarcoma UK and Scope.
The run, championed by Virgin, started on August 13 and will finish around September 23 – by which time Richard will have covered a staggering 977 miles (1572km) .
Berrys associate Guy Banham was out cycling on Saturday (September 14) and was lucky enough to run in to him on his 31st marathon and he proved a real inspiration.
“When I met him on the outskirs of Keynsham near Bristol he was about 24 miles in to his 31st marathon in as many days and he had time not only to let me take a picture of him but to stop the whole procession and have a picture taken with me, a seriously inspiring man,” said Guy.
“It’s not every day you meet a current world record holder,” he added.
Guy specialises in agricultural business consultancy and is based at Berrys’ Kettering office. He was promoted to associate partner in April 2013. He can be contacted on 01536 532379.
