A Northamptonshire surveyor has become a full member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) after passing his Assessment of Professional Competence (APC) examinations.
Tom Harris has been gaining experience for his examinations at the Kettering office of Berrys but will now be permanently based at the firm’s Towcester office to strengthen the breadth of service offered by the team there.
Working alongside experienced chartered surveyors Marcus Blake and Judy Pearson, Tom will specialise in all aspects of farm business and estate management including rural grant funding, diversification projects, Basic Payment Scheme, agricultural planning appraisals and landlord and tenant negotiation.
“This is a great result and is testament to the hard work put in by Tom and the support that APC candidates are given by the whole team,” said Guy Banham, head of business consultancy at Berrys.
“The exams are a very rigorous test of competence, demanding high standards and a dedicated approach to the course.”
Tom graduated from Moulton College with a first-class degree in Agriculture and completed an MSc in Rural Estate and Land Management at Harper Adams University before joining Berrys. With the RICS qualification under his belt he is now working towards his Central Association of Agricultural Valuers (CAAV) examinations.
